Future Learning Lead, Fab Lab Barcelona, IAAC
Santiago Fuentemilla Garriga has more than 15 years of experience designing multidisciplinary projects at an international level. With a master’s degree in architecture and postgraduate qualifications in digital fabrication and rapid prototyping (Fabacademy), he has worked in studios such as OPR, FHAUS, OPERA, and Brullet de Luna associats. Currently he is part of the IAAC — Fab Lab BCN team, a director of the global academic programmes Fab Academy and Fabricademy, and a professor of the Master in Design for Emergent Futures (MDEF) and Master in Design for Distributed Innovation (MDDI).
As a coordinator and leader of the Future Learning research area, he participates in private and EU-funded research projects that explore maker project-based learning for STEAM competences in primary school students, entrepreneurship and social innovation for young people, maker movement and collaborative production for the circular economy of the European Union, and innovators in the sustainable fashion industry.
